
Ohaneze Ndigbo Lagos State applauds the efforts of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state to promote peaceful and harmonious coexistence among Nigeria’s many diverse ethnic communities.
The praise was given at the first-ever NUJ Lagos culture day event, which is part of the 2023 Press week’s schedule of events, along with a plea for the continuation of the commendable progressive and more unifying initiative.

According to Chief Ossai, the Ohaneze and the Ndigbo in general reflect the nationwide trend of mutual cooperation and connection in constructing a better and more formidable Nigeria on the NUJ Cultural Day.
This is a fantastic development that must be maintained if we are to create a Nigeria that is truly one nation under God. Ohaneze Lagos would like to express its gratitude to the Lagos NUJ for organising this event and reaffirm its commitment to continuing to back any and all initiatives that contribute to a more peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
Ohaneze Ndigbo, Odua, Akwa-Cross, and Edo-Delta groups, among many others, presented enlightening displays at the NUJ Cultural Day, highlighting aspects of their culture such as dance, fashion, tradition, greetings, food, drink, language, and other distinctive aspects.
Diverse guests enjoyed a feast of traditional Nigerian dishes, including Amala, Ugba, and Nkwu enu, while being entertained by traditional dances and dressed in colourful traditional garb.
Earlier in her remark, Dr. Chinyere Amaechi, chairman of the Ohaneze Group at NUJ Lagos, noted that the progressive efforts of the Adeleye-led NUJ Lagos state will not go unnoticed by the Igbo journalists working under the Lagos State Council.
She promised that the organisation would aid in implementing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s plans for good administration and economic growth in the state.
She added that the Ohaneze NUJ’s early participation in the cultural day event aimed at promoting peace, togetherness, and progress in the country and Lagos state, which is driven by a wide variety of ethnic groups, was a direct result of the group’s dedication to good causes.
